PD Dr Martin Feller, MSc is an internist and public health physician (board certified), and research associate at the Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM) and the Department of General Internal Medicine at Inselspital, University of Bern. He holds a Master’s degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (www.lshtm.ac.uk). He was involved in epidemiologic research projects that led to publications in high impact factor journals. After completing his clinical training in internal medicine, he engaged in patient-oriented clinical research and became the scientific coordinator for the OPERAM trial at Inselspital (http://operam-2020.eu). He has recently received a competitive grant to validate six widely used mortality risk scores in multimorbid, elderly participants with polypharmacy. He is supervising PhD students, and leads a research group focusing on methodological studies and studies that investigate subclinical thyroid dysfunction. Martin Feller also works as a GP in Grosshöchstetten.
