Ola Hysaj is a research assistant and PhD student in Clinical Epidemiology at the Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM). She was trained in Public Health (MSc) at the University of Tirana and Epidemiology and Biostatistics (MSc) at the Catholic University of Sacred Heart in Rome. Following the completion of her second Master’s studies she spent the past years gaining professional research experience in epidemiology at the Department of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Cambridge in 2017 and at the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, Tufts University in 2018. Before she started her PhD, she was a research fellow at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute (EBPI), University of Zurich.

The subject of her PhD is understanding the association between subclinical thyroid dysfunction and cardiovascular diseases.
