Angela Edith Schulthess-Lisibach, PhD joined the Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM) at the University of Bern as a research fellow in February 2023.

After obtaining her federal pharmacy diploma in 2015 at ETH, she worked in a community pharmacy before entering the clinical and research world. Therefore, she earned her PhD and clinical pharmacist specialization degree at the Kantonsspital Baden and the University of Geneva (2017-2022). Her research mainly involved cohort studies and prediction modelling with electronic health records focused on improving the management of adverse drug events in older hospitalized patients, especially delirium due to drugs with anticholinergic activities. In addition to this, she regularly accompanied physicians on ward rounds to support them in optimizing treatment plans. This also led her to pursue a medical degree at the University of Zurich (2021-2027) – bridging the gap between research and clinical practice.
