Event «Frailty: from concept(s) to practice» held at BIHAM in May 2019

03.06.2019 - The event «Frailty: from concept(s) to practice» took place at the Institute of Primary Health Care (BIHAM) of the University of Bern on Thursday 16 May 2019. Our guests from the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands, Prof. Dr. Jacobijn Gussekloo and Dr. Rosalinde Poortvliet, started the event with an introduction to frailty and the challenges linked to this concept.

Subsequently, Dutch and Swiss experiences about conducting research with frail participants and challenges arising when conducting research involving frail patients in data from electronic medical records were discussed. This event was organized by PhD students and EHCL scholars Damien Cateau (Unisanté, University of Lausanne), Rahel Meier (Institute of Primary Care, University of Zurich), Yael Rachamin (Institute of Primary Care, University of Zurich) and Katharina Tabea Jungo (Institute of Primary Health Care, University of Bern) and was funded by the Expert Visitor Grant Programme of the NRP74
